  Silviana Garcia, age 92, well known ranch owner, died at her home twenty miles southeast of Raymondville Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock following an illness of three weeks.  Funeral services were conducted at the family home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Father Clement Ayala, O.M.I., officiating.  Burial was in the Mesquite Cemetery under the direction of Duddlesten Funeral Home.  (12-19-1946)

Ysidoro Cavazos, 84, pioneer Willacy County rancher died at the family residence 25 miles southeast of Raymondville, Sunday morning  Nov. 2, at 3 o'clock following a lengthy illness.  He was born on Nov. 11, 1867 near the same location where he died.
He was the last surviving child of the late Anastacio Cavazos and grandson of the late Jose Narciso Cavazos, who received a large acreage of land from the King of Spain in what was known as the San Juan Carricitos Grant, which now forms a large part of Willacy County.
Survivors include two sons, Joaquin and Pedro Cavazos, two daughters, Mrs. Delores Cavazos and Mrs Isabella Cavazos de Galvan, all who reside on the family ranch.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning from the family residence at 10 o'clock.  Interment was made in the El Mesquite Cemetery under the direction of Duddlesten Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were Estevan Medina, Abundio Garcia, Eduardo Olivarez, Amadio Cavazos, Carlos Gomaz, and Juan Cavazos  (11-13-1952 News)

Luciana Cavazos, 64, lifelong resident of the Santa Monica area and descendant of Jose Narciso Cavazos, grantee of a large block of land in the southeastern part of Willacy County from the King of Spain during the 18th century, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at her ranch home Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock.
She was born 1-18-1891 on the Mesquite Ranch and had lived there her entire life.  She was a member of the Catholic church.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the family residence with the Rev. Stanley Guzick, O.M.I., officiating.  Interment will be made in the family crypt at the El Mesquite Cemetery under the direction of the Duddlesten Funeral Home.
Survivors include one brother, Narciso Cavazos, Sr., and one sister, Mrs. Ignacia Cavazos Mendez, both of Santa Monica.

Pedro Cavazos, 68 yrs. old, born Nov. 4, 1894, died on ranch- survived by one brother, Joaquin Cavazos and a sister, Miss Delores Cavazos, both of Lyford.  Burial in El MEsquite Cemetery.  (2-8-1963 Star)

Matias C. Cavazos, 49, great great grandson of Jose Narciso Cavazos, died Sunday at his ranch home at El Sabinito, 23 miles southwest of Raymondville after a short illness.  Internment was made Monday morning in the old Cavazos cemetery near the historical ranch house.
Cavazos was born Aug. 15, 1872 at El Mesquite Ranch in Willacy County.  He was known over practically all the county and the valley. 
The burial services were conducted by Rev. Father James Smith, O.M.I., pastor of the Catholic church at Raymondville.  The Howard Mortuary in this city directed arrangements. 
Surviving are three brothers, Juan, Francisco, and Anastacio Cavazos, two sisters, Mrs. Ang---- C. de Olivares and Mrs Santos C. de Olivares, also 60 nephews and nieces.  (11-13-1941  Chronicle)
